Restored centuries-old tradition
Armazi Wines was founded by Beka Khergiani and George Sharvashidze. Armazi is the name of a location in Georgia, 4 km southwest of Mtskheta and 22 km northwest of Tbilisi. Armazi has changed the history of wine after archaeologists found a wine cellar, dated as IV century BC. Moreover, the emblem of the company is a coin, found in this cellar, created for the warriors of a first king of Georgia – Pharnavaz I of Iberia.
We believe that we should be responsible for every bottle of wine made in our winery. Consequently, we track closely the whole process of winemaking, from the vineyards to the consumer. Our aim is to create sophisticated wines that make difference.
As one of the pioneers of the new Georgian winemaking history, our ambition is to produce top quality, even in these challenging times. We are convinced that our wines must be the carriers of the new winemaking philosophy that will take Georgian winemaking traditions further, thus establishing and strengthening the image of a country with thousands of years of winemaking tradition
